Habarana Village Experience Tour

About This Experience
Step into authentic Sri Lankan village life.
Beyond the monuments there is another Sri Lanka of rice paddies, clay-pot kitchens, bullock carts and lake crossings, and this two-to-three-hour experience in Habarana takes you straight into it. It's relaxed, hands-on and warm-hearted: the kind of morning that ends up being the story you tell most when you get home.
The Experience
You begin with a bullock-cart ride along farm tracks, cross a peaceful lake by traditional catamaran canoe, and walk through the village meeting the people who live there. In a local home you'll watch (and help with) a live cooking demonstration over firewood, then sit down to the result: an authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch made with ingredients grown metres away.
