Sinharaja Rain Forest Guided Trek

About This Experience
Sri Lanka's last primary rainforest, on foot, with an expert.
Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to over half of Sri Lanka's endemic species: a dense, dripping, gloriously alive world of jungle trails, natural streams and hidden waterfalls. This guided trek (entrance via Pitadeniya) goes at a naturalist's pace: slow enough to actually find the creatures the forest hides.
The Experience
Treks run 2–4 hours over about 5 km depending on your pace and route, with frequent stops for wildlife spotting and photography. Your local naturalist guide reads the forest as you walk, pointing out the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, purple-faced langurs, green pit vipers coiled on branches, rare butterflies and birdlife you would walk straight past alone.
